Our 2016 Open Event has now been and gone. Results are here . Summary to be posted here in due course. Our next Enterprise Open is to be confirmed and likely the last weekend in September 2017.
Please contact the Enterpise Fleet Captain, Hilgard Muller, via the ASC Contacts link for more information.
The Jack Holt designed Enterprise is very recognisable by its bright blue sails. Enterprises 1 and 2 launched in 1956 and proceeded to sail across the Channel to Calais. Needless to say that had the desired effect and the class is now in its 60th year with around 23400 Enterprises built so far. The class offers close and competitive racing. All are constructed to strict class rules and even very old boats can be competitive in the right hands.

The Enterprise Fleet at ASC participates in racing throughout the year. The atmosphere within the fleet is competitive but always informal and friendly with experienced helms more than ready to offer assistance and advice to newcomers. Aldenham is an ideal venue to learn and hone your boating skills. Inland waters always provide plenty of wind-shifting and opportunity to play the shifts. Whether you’re at the top of the fleet or just starting out, this small club has a lot to offer. If you are interested in crewing, the Class Captain can put you in touch with a helmsman who can get you on the water. New to racing? We all were once, and it can be daunting. Again, speak to the class captain and they will find you someone to give you an introduction.
All members are required to participate in Race Officer duties, which is also a great way to learn from others the what & what not to dos on the water. Club racing continues all year round. On Sundays the first race is around 11:00 am. In the summer a pursuit race takes place on Wednesday evenings at around 7pm. Full details are in the Club's programme given to all members at the start of the year. Results are posted on the website each week, often with quick write-up of notable events or conditions.
