Summer Championships and BBQ

We were blessed with some glorious weather which boosted numbers for the BBQ and sailing in the afternoon. Nick Cooke and Richard Holmes organised two fun races for the juniors which were well attended and produced a very colourful spectacle.

The wind was good for the Summer Championship competition although, unfortunately attendance was down with only three racers on Saturday and eight on Sunday. David Lambert sailed into top spot on Saturday and Richard Holmes led in both races on Sunday until overhauled by Colin Carver towards the end of the last race.

The Summer Championships are run based on personal handicaps to give less experienced sailors a chance to beat the 'hot shots' so congratulations to Michael Pennant-Jones and Lochan who came third in the Enterprise. David Lambert was second and Colin Carver came first overall and was presented with the John Lawrence Trophy.

Many thanks to Marcus and Rebecca for preparing some delicious BBQ food, Warwick Flint for helping with the BBQ  and all those who helped in the race box.
