Adult Get Sailing

At Aldenham Sailing Club we run monthly Get Sailing Clinics mainly over spring and summer where members can receive informal tuition, tips and advice to help them get on the water and sailing solo. Suitable for novices or returning sailors looking to brush up skills, these sessions are also an ideal way for new members to get to know the club.

The 2019 Adult Get Sailing Clinics will run from 1:45 to 4:00 on the following dates:

     Sunday 7th April
     Sunday 5th May
     Sunday 2nd June
     Sunday 7th July
     Sunday 1st September
     Sunday 6th October

Aldenham is primarily a racing club and we all remember how daunting the step-up from beginner to racer can be. To ease this transition we run a buddy system to mentor members who are new to racing. The buddy system works by pairing new (or new-ish) racers with one of the 'old hands', who would be available on a Sunday morning to give encouragement, advice and support.

We also run occasional 'mother duck' races where an experienced racer guides beginners around a Sunday morning race, giving on-the-water coaching.

To be paired with a buddy, book a place on a Get Sailing Clinic or for queries about any other aspect of adult training at ASC, please email Richard Holmes.
Please note that Get Sailing Clinic places are limited and need to be booked in advance.
